About #67 stone
#67 stone is clean crushed stone, mostly between 3/4 inch and 3/16 inch, with no dust. It is a size smaller than #57, so it rakes smoother and fills tighter around pipe and forms. Ready-mix plants use it as the stone in a lot of everyday concrete. Under a slab or a sidewalk it goes down about 4 inches.
More about #67 stone
On the standard chart, #67 passes a 1 inch screen and most of it is held between 3/4 inch and the #4 screen, which has holes about 3/16 inch wide. People at the counter often call it 3/4 inch stone or 3/4 clean. With no pieces over an inch, it lies flatter than #57 and is easier to bring to grade with a rake.
Use it under concrete slabs, sidewalks and steps, as bedding around drain and sewer pipe, and as the top layer on a walkway. A plate compactor settles it in one or two passes. It will not set up hard like stone with fines, but it stays where you put it once it is boxed in by forms or an edge.
It drains freely, so a wet load gives up most of its water within a day. Scale tickets on a rainy morning can still run a few percent heavy. An unwashed pile that still carries dust weighs a bit more per cubic yard than the washed product.
